Project Finance

We advise on financing of infrastructure and industrial projects based upon the projected cash flows of the project rather than the balance sheets of its sponsors. We also recommend project financing structures that are lucrative for equity investors, known as ‘sponsors’, ‘syndicate’ of banks or other lending institutions that provide loans and all other parties to the operation.

Conveyancing is the transfer of legal title of immovable property from one person to another or the granting of an encumbrance such as a mortgage or a lien. Bond registration entails preparation of the bond documentation as well as the necessary guarantees for lodging in the deeds office. Bond cancellation is the process of cancelling bonds. We provide all the aforementioned services.

Property law advisory services including due diligence, verifications and litigation in respect of property rights

Property law advisory services entail providing advice pertaining to property registrations, ownership, possession rights, limited real rights and disputes. Due diligence is the investigation of properties to be sold or encumbered and also the investigation of the parties, prior to signing a contract.

Registration of all forms of encumbrances over movable and immovable property in the deeds registry

Encumbrances are burdens imposed on movable and immovable property, for example mortgage bonds, liens, notarial bonds, covering bonds, kustingbriefs etc. Such encumbrances over immovable or movable property must be registered in the deeds registry in terms of Deed Registry Act [Cap 20:05] and the accompanying regulations. We have a team of seasoned conveyancers who attend to registrations of all forms of encumbrances.

Civil litigation

Civil litigation refers to a legal dispute between two or more parties that seek damages or specific performance. We represent parties in trials, arbitrations and mediations before administrative agencies, foreign tribunals, and local courts. Several common types of civil litigation include mining disputes, debt collection, intellectual property disputes, corporate law disputes, labor and employment disputes, and divorces.
